Oy Vey — Feeling Pissed Off and Pissed On

Speaking of elimination…they’re serving up nothing but turd sandwiches at the Global Buffet.   There’s the Japan turd sandwich, the Libyan turd sandwich and in descending order of sandwich distastefullness is  Michelle Bachman,  Rick Santorum, the governors of Maine, Wisconsin, Ohio, and what the heck, all the other newly-minted Republican govs and let’s throw in the Republican House—Boehner and Co.—and the tea bag coalitions with their billionaire sponsors.

It’s obvious why Japan is so horrible; it’s hard to even contemplate these conditions. Re Libya, Obama was damned if he did, damned if he didn’t.  The Republican pro-anti-pro-anti-war party is flip flopping and not knowing what they’re after.  It all makes for a massive Dagwood-level turd sandwich.  Here’s the insanity which passes for thought from the people trying to dismantle what’s left of our democracy:

Michele Bachman, presidential candidate 2012, says that Socialists are coming to take away our incandescent bulbs.  Gee, Socialists like George W. and 39 Republican senators  signed that bill in 2007.  It encourages but does not mandate that incandescent be replaced by luminescent (i.e. energy-saving) bulbs. In fact, Phillps and G.E. have  been moving in this direction for a decade and are now marketing compact fluorescent , halogen, light-emitting diode, and electron-emitting lumescent lighting—and, ta-dah, also a new traditional incandescent bulb that used 30% less energy. Also according to Ms. Bachman,  the first shots of the American Revolution were shot in Lexington and Concord in “New Hampshire.”   Apologies to Massachusetts.  Talk about dim bulbs!

Santorum blames abortion culture on playing a major part in the financial problems that threaten social security.   And he puts a nix on  illegal immigrants—if they’re poor—coming to our country who could be paying into this system.  Didn’t he notice that this Hispanic population in the U.S. has grown 50% in the last decade?

In Maine, the new governor has removed a mural in the Labor Dept. showing the history of the labor movement, because he said it was too pro-labor union.  Oy vey!  The power of art is threatening to the Republican Party.

In Wisconsin, the new Republican gov blames the public employees unions for financial woes as an excuse to take away their collective bargaining rights , to therefore destroy the union  sources of $$ that helps Democrats run.  This, versus the bailout billionaire babies who caused the meltdown and are flooding the Republican party coffers with their ill-begotten dough. Repeat this scenario for new Repub. govs of Ohio, Indiana, NJ, PA, et al.

Then there’s the governor of Pennsylvania who is slashing education, increasing the budget for prisons, going after those welfare cheaters (that might save, what, maybe $10k) and cutting breaks to those Texas oil and gas guys. He’s worried that if they’re not coddled enough, they’ll leave town when in reality that black gold underneath most of our state ain’t going anywhere and neither will they.

The Republican House under Boehner says don’t tax the rich  or the corporations.  They also say that our national turd sandwich is the deficit, NOT the lack of living wage jobs.  So why not distract us all from this real broken promise and instead cut people’s programs  such as these “dangerous” entities:  The EPA ; health care reform, education, National Public Radio; Public Broadcasting System; AARP; ACORN; Planned Parenthood,  and financial regulation reform.  These amount to a piss in the budget pot.  Left untouched are the real turd sandwiches of the deficit which is the waste, fraud and abuse in Defense,   Medicare, Social Security, the prison industrial complex,  and the drug war.    Some deficit cutters.

Here’s the game plan for defeating Obama:  Criticize every move he makes; convert hatemongering paranoia into votes by divide and conquer; and dwell in the  realm of the counter-factual.  Or as we like to call it, bullshit.
