I Feel The Earth Move (under mah feet!)

Up working in the office and the room begins to shake lightly.  And a slight rumble that just keeps going!  What the hell??  We had just had a huge tree come down  the day before, on a  perfectly calm and lovely early evening as we were sitting outside after work.  Craaaaacccckkk sounds for like, 2 minutes.  We ran down and there it was, a huge ash, also taking down another tree, plumb across the driveway.  So I was thinking, another huge tree??  Or, has someone broken in and is stamping around downstairs? Or, has the stairwell fallen apart?  I gingerly walk down the stairs (yup, they were still there) w/ my hand on the thin wooden handrail, and I can feel the tremors through the handrail. Very odd sensation.  By the time I got to the bottom it was quiet.  Of course if I’d been thinking clearly I woulda known that no one could break in because there’s a monster tree still across the driveway.  Duh!  Anyway, the tree is now at least partially cleared so we can get out and we  want to thank Lenny and Jason and Sarah for helping make that possible.  You’re the best guys!  So now shoe drop #3 is alleged to be soon roaring toward us up the coast.  Hmmmm.  Too many omens for my taste.

The tree was even bigger than this.  And we could smell the wood as we ran toward it after the noise.
